Here in This World, many offenders suffer from addictions. By far, drug addictions are the most common, but large numbers of offenders suffer from non-drug related addictions. These individuals don’t attend Narcotics Anonymous (NA) or Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) because neither would help them. In particular, these individuals suffer from one of the many forms of sex addictions. They’re serving sentences on charges ranging from rape to pandering, and it’s easy to view these offenders as having committed ‘spontaneous’ or ‘one time’ acts rather than suffering from ongoing addiction. On December 23, 2019, I will post the first of several guest writings to come. The author was convicted of child sex crimes, and it is the first essay in a series of guest writings covering sex and non-drug related addictions.
