This Monday’s post “Are You Being Served?” introduced you to the magnificent world of small inmate service companies. These companies do more than fill a niche, they fill important needs and desires of prisoners across the country.
There are many things inmates need help with on a day to day basis that they can’t fulfill on their own. For example, a lot of guys pass their time by reading books. When you have time on your hands like we do, reading is inevitable. So, locating and ordering books is the number one thing guys need help with.
There’s a hidden universe of small sole proprietorships, companies serving inmate needs that major corporations and state contracts fail to address. They fill niche needs, everything from locating and ordering books for prisoners, to custom services tailored to the specific needs of the individual.
On January 3, 2020 Qassem Soleimani, Iran’s top general and the architech and mastermind to projecting Iranian power throughout the Middle East, was exterminated by an American Raptor drone. It was pleasant seeing his car smoldering and melting on the world news. I couldn’t help but notice that the strike left no crater. We obviously reserved our best precision munitions for him; how kind we are to allow him to die so quickly. A kindness he himself denied many of his victims.
I know I’ve said this before, but the talent around here is amazing. Some guys are skilled writers or artists, while others are adept at creating unique and interesting craft items. In my post “Prison Hustles Make The World Go Round” I showed you a video of an amazing hand crafted wooden Harley Motorcycle. I also showed you an example of a unique craft item, a small wishing well.
