Another Ohio prison has burst wide with cases of COVID-19. North Central Correctional Institution is so short on healthy staff, that a statewide call for correctional officers has been issued.
This past week saw an explosion of COVID cases here amongst staff, all traced back to one individual. In an effort to try and stop further spread, more than 60 staff were sent home for quarantine. This scenario is hauntingly similar to that leading up to Marion Correctional’s, Pickaway Correctional’s, and Belmont Correctional’s COVID-19 spread. Between these institutions alone, dozens of inmates perished.
I know several men who’ve died from COVID at other institutions. You get quarantined and either get better or you die.
That’s the reality of it all.

I am having a hard time coming to grips with the issue at your facility. It’s not like the Ohio system does not have experience dealing with this virus. At a minimum the episodes at the other facilities should give management a basis of how to improve their own situation at your facility. Up to this point, your place appears to have been under control, what happened?
Based on what I am hearing, it sounds like management has dropped their guard and then fell asleep at the wheel.
Stay safe, keep your distance, etc, etc, etc.
